Take that Iowa!

“Cullers, who lives near Purdy, has set a new soybean-yield world record of 160.6 bushels per acre, Gov. Jay Nixon announced today. Cullers has achieved multiple world records for soybean yields, including the most recent record of 154.57 bushels per acre, which he established in 2007. By contrast, a typical Missouri acre yields about 40 bushels a year.”

And if you don’t want to do the math, 160.6 bushels/acre is an astounding 250% increase over 40 bushels/acre! And of course 40 bushels/acre itself is a staggering increase from the productivity levels of a hundred or even 50 years ago. Without such advances in agriculture it would be impossible for only a few thousand farmers in about four states to feed billions in dozens of countries.

Someday all will learn: Don’t ask IT guys to f*$k with you, unless you expect to get f#%ed!

I wonder how much these dismissed experts’ opinions cost us?

I didn’t know Missouri had been so admirably proactive in the illegal immigration crisis, but it looks that, as usual, Missouri is on the cutting edge. Now, if we could just stop being so “backward” (Carnahan) and stop ‘clinging to our God & guns’ (Obama)….

But seriously, the legislation in place in Missouri with little controversy begs the question of why the Arizona law, which is less harsh than what we have, has drawn so much controversy. We haven’t even been sued by the DOJ yet!

This site is basically the same article with a little more info, mainly this line:
“So, why doesn’t Missouri receive attention? Answer: There are no Mexican illegals in Missouri to demonstrate.”

Excellent point, and something to remember.

Of course you have to keep in mind that allmost of the measures outlined were passed under the Bush admin, when we had an Attorney General committed to following the Constitution.

Really, how hard is it for a Harvard man to maneuver an umbrella through a gate? Oh wait, I see the problem: missing TOTUS! (Teleprompter of the United States, who has a nice blog you can find among the links to the right)

Here is another pic I just found. He actually lifted the umbrella over the gate, when all he had to do was simply close it for a second or turn it slightly to pass through. Once again we’re led down the path of most resistance.

The above article was written and published by the editor in chief, Sequita Bean, in last week’s edition of The Current, the student newspaper of The University of Missouri-St. Louis. This is a glaring example not only of bias in reporting, but simply bad writing form. To be fair, this was an opinion piece, but I found the writing terrible! I’m not sure if there were space constraints or a lack of time, but the story seems very heavy on unfounded opinion and impression and almost completely lacking in fact.
Where are the facts and sources to back-up some of these assertions? Where is the contrasting viewpoint to frame your argument? Where is the context, historical or otherwise?
So, there you have it: The product of the current liberal establishment press in academia.
