Pop the champagne, the ecotastrophy is over at long last!!
But not everyone is happy:
Federal Report on Oil’s Fate in Gulf Raises Eyebrows
Some are UPSET that less oil is being found than expected!
Some are even questioning if the Gulf CAN recover. Can? I thought it had already started.
The BP Oil Spill was an excellent example of one of the most interesting things I’ve heard RahmBo Emanual say:”You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.”
This is clearly illustrated now that the crisis has in fact passed. A large segment of the LameStream Media refuse to 1)Believe the ordeal is over 2)Accept that maybe it wasn’t as bad as we thought and 3)Believe enough is being done about it.
The best example of what can only be called fear-mongering came near the height of the spill in this article:
How BP Gulf disaster may have triggered a ‘world-killing’ event
The author paints a picture of the spill as the catalyst to an apocalyptic release of methane which could (WILL!) destroy all life on Earth. And I quote:
“BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling operation may have triggered an irreversible, cascading geological Apocalypse that will (emphasis added) culminate with the first mass extinction of life on Earth in many millions of years.”
When some are willing to push it to this extreme, it really is no surprise that many cannot except the spill as a fizzled disaster.
I, on the other hand, applaud BP for their persistent and ultimately successful efforts to end the crisis. I even applaud them for knowing their way around our tax code better than our own government, resulting in a $10Billion tax deduction for cleanup costs which will recoup nearly half of the $20bil BigO took from them. As Bender from Futurama put it: “I don’t like blackmail. I prefer Extortion! The “X” makes it sound more exotic”
